That is quite excellent. Let’s hope he remains consistent and doesn’t get stuck / lost / breakdown over the remaining stagesMal Hannes wrote:Giniel is no 1 after stage 2!!

Yes Loeb and Roma had a good stage yesterday and so did Peterhansel over the first few waypoints, then he got stuck for 17mins.
Things can change so quickly.
Not too sure what happened to Nasser yesterday. He consistently lost time during the stage as did Giniel the last few waypoints. Roma and Ten Brinke made up some time at the end.

I hope Nasser bounces back. I never used to be a fan of his until I recently heard a good story about him from one of the previous Dakar drivers.
There was a situation where twins from Peru could only afford to contest one bike. They had flicked a coin to determine who would ride & who would act as support.
Nasser found out about this & approached them to find out much money they needed to contest a 2nd bike. I think the figure mentioned was $80k or $100k.
He just gave them the money & the only thing he asked in return was that they place his team sticker on their bike. So technically he was a sponsor.

Seems Sainz is stuck for more than 30mins already.
Giniel just went 4mins faster than Loeb and Roma at WP3.
Nasser is flying today while Ten Brinke lost about 6mins at WP2.
