I hope to get to 101 by the end of 2021 - but it's getting increasingly difficult to find one's I haven't done before....

In five years I have done only 13 tracks. That is not adequate. It is in fact very slapgat.
It would be nice to know how many tracks the posters have done?
Yes?

I think what Manny is stating is very impressive, and is truly quite an achievement. :|

But, I have one issue, and it is how Manny is defining as a trail or route..or "outing" :?

I first noticed it when Gualtar posted on his 50 trails/ routes and thought it funny but harmless.
But, now I think it should be taken a bit more seriously
We, or the club, should maybe define a 4x4 trail or route or "outing" before we get a bit crazy here

Take the following for example:
57. Lundean’s Nek - 4x4AG 10 Passes Tour – 30 April – 1 May 2018
58. Naude’s Nek- 4x4AG 10 Passes Tour – 30 April – 1 May 2018
59. Ben McDhui - 4x4AG 10 Passes Tour – 30 April – 1 May 2018
60. Carlisle Pass - 4x4AG 10 Passes Tour – 30 April – 1 May 2018
61. Bastervoedpadkloof Pass- 4x4AG 10 Passes Tour – 30 April – 1 May 2018
62. Tennahead Pass - 4x4AG 10 Passes Tour – 30 April – 1 May 2018
63. Pitseng Pass - 4x4AG 10 Passes Tour – 30 April – 1 May 2018
64. Ongeluksnek Pass - 4x4AG 10 Passes Tour – 30 April – 1 May 2018
65. Pot Rivier Pass - 4x4AG 10 Passes Tour – 30 April – 1 May 2018
These above, are 9 routes, but only one outing.... ??? And not really all require 4x4 do they?

And the following:
24. Wolwekloof - Trail
25. WolweKloof - Bridgestone Challenge
These are two outings but the same trail... ??? Yet he mentions that he did other trails more than once but only listed them once...???
2. Berakah (5 times)
3. Hennops (Many times)
4. Hennops Pride (3 times)
5. De Wildt (Over 12 times)
So, aren't they also 4x4 outings....???

Also, is being a spectator now deemed a 4x4 outing??
49. Carnage Canyon Supporter/Spectator 16 - 18 June 2017 (L/R Camping ).

I dont know, but if I have to compile a similar list going on these, inconsistent, parameters, then I could easily be far more than 69.

If I have to list every pass I have driven and every 4x4 event that I have attended... :P

Here are the rules... posted by yourself.. and what you just just instructed me to read. Now see my highlighted points:
IV. Cento e Um Desafios
101 Events (Trails/Trips/Challenges)
The 101 Events Challenge is simple, you must complete 101 Events (Trails/Trips/Challenges), where you were the principle driver, at any time in your lifetime.

Please Note: You can only list a place ONCE, no matter how many times you have done it.
Between Hennops, De Wildt, Moegatle & Att Se Gat I have over 25 visits. But those will only count as 4 'venues'.

The rest of the rules are EXACTLY the same as for Cinquenta Desafios

How it Works:
1. Complete the online registration form on [www.4x4actiongroup.co.za, click on Event Calendar]
2. Pay the Registration Fee of R101.00 using your name, followed by 101 (Cento e Um) as the reference.
3. Submit your evidence & documentation [madmannydefreitas@yebo.co.za (drop the mad)].
4. The competitor will then be sent a Competitor Number.
5. Once 101 are completed, it will be announced & a Certificate will be issued.
So, if you did not DRIVE it cannot be listed, and you cannot list one place more than once, regardless of the kind of event..

But I digress, the passes thingy falls under the overlanding rules, and I was mistaken in that I missed the
The rest of the rules are EXACTLY the same as for Cinquenta Desafios
rule.... my bad... :D

But... you have not quite followed them either

Some valid points raised and that’s why I am comping my list as follows:

- Trails
- Overlanding
- Passes
- Parks

I however think I should stick with Trails and Overlanding and leave out Passes and Parks

You guys are missing the point.
I started Ultimate Trail Master to encourage guys to get behind the wheel, engage Low Range & enjoy the Great Outdoors.
It was never intended to withstand nitpicking.

Maybe a guy has 82 & another guy, who has done more, is on 78 - but does that really matter?
Both guys are far better than 99.995% of 4x4 owners who have done Zero.

Only 17 people have done 50+ trails & have become UTM Cinquenta Conquistadors.
There is only ONE UTM Dos Sete Diablos Conquistador.

Fair point Manny and I agree with the reasoning of getting the guys to see their 4x4 outings as an achievement, because that is what it is lately.
But we cannot degrade the achievement of the
only ONE UTM Dos Sete Diablos Conquistador.
with letting the rules slide.. Nitpicking should be welcomed, to preserve the trophy value of these achievements.

We dont want them to list things like "meeting Manny at Hogshead for a beer" as an outing do we? :P :D (I suppose if you leave on all fours, and crawl home then that is exactly what it is  )

We must keep things to a certain standard, a valid "yardstick" if I may, and not let it become a matter of drafting a list that does not get tested, but rather let it be something respectable, something that can pass muster...
Let it remain an achievement that can be saluted by us.. 8-)

And to keep it like that, to keep the reputation of these "achievements", only 3 rules must be enforced in my opinion:
  • You MUST be the driver in the outing.
It must have required you to go off the tar.
You MUST have completed the event/outing
That's just my opinion, and the reasoning I apply in my lists

But kudos to you and the team for the initiative, I think its great!
