XJ, this is just my opinion, it is no longer spectator friendly, without spectators, you have nothing to sell to sponsors!

Also the fact that it’s televised later makes it less desirable to watch, unlike WRX, which is broadcast live.

Even WRX is in jeopardy

Even though it has huge spectator appeal, there is international pressure for an e-class, which I’m not sure has been received well all along, the bigger manufacturers has already cars in place, while the smaller ones can’t find the budget to do this!

It’s pointless to race against oneself!

Personally I don’t believe E cars will work in WRX, you all know of my hatred for everything electric, but my feelings aside, WRX is just not the platform for this conscience consoling tech! WRX is about noise, dirt and big spills!

Then there is Loeb, not everyone’s cup of tea, a split between him and Peugeot is imminent, he has apparently already signed with Hyundai in WRC! Not sure where this will leave the Hansen boys, they are real talented young men! Also not sure where this will leave him in as far as support is concerned in the Dakar?!?

I suspect WRX will return to be a European only championship, it has been since the late 60’s and well entrenched in the support it has had since then.

WRC will continue as is, admittedly on a slightly smaller scale! Interest in the Kenya safari is on the up, certainly a space to watch

Loeb is doing the Dakar in a 2017 spec Peugeot, but as a privateer backed by Red Bull.

Peugeot have pulled out of both WRX & Dakar. Pity really.

pretty much a trophy truck.... but it does look good.

With Loeb driving a win is more than possible!
