I was lucky enough to crack an invite to go and play with the new jimnys on Saturday.
Thanks Suzuki SA , was a great day!!

Suzuki has really done their homework on this new model and is way more than just a cosmetic upgrade.
The whole vehicle feels different and has a quality feel about it. From ride characteristics (on and off road) to the seats and finishings it feels solidly built. I am 1.96m and had no issues with the driver position at all.... very comfortable.
Off road this new jimny is going to be a beast with the traction control and 1500 engine. Add in the autobox and it is an absolute winner!

Well done Suzuki.....

Yet theres people comparing it to the Thar, NP300 and softies.

Some should not be allowed on the internet

Could this be sarcasm?

Comparisons are only meaningful to the person doing the comparison.
They have a set of criteria in mind while making the comparison and unless we can understand their criteria the comparison would more than likely be meaningless to anyone else..... In which case they are merely opinions

My answer is: go and drive it and see if it would fit the requirements you have in mind.

It certainly has ticked the boxes for me, and then some.

I’ve driven past a few Suzuki dealers & looked into their showrooms but haven’t seen one yet.

There aren't any in the showrooms yet. I was told the dealers should get them within the next week.

If you are not in the market for a new vehicle then might I suggest you leave your wallet at home when you do go and take a look.... 8-)

I liked the out going model jimny but felt it a bit small inside (I am 1.96m) and under powered. For what it was it was good but didn't fit me.
The new model is a whole different game. I fit comfortably and the interior feels big. The engine is a gem and appears to have plenty power on hand.

It’s a bit small for a family main vehicle but maybe the misses can be convinced

I have tried to convince the Mrs, she now drives a Polo...   she was having none of this small Jimny - i must admit it was the outgoing model I wanted to get her, I couldn't even get her to sit in one :(

Wife’s got a 500 & wants its replacement to be another 500. Jimny would be more versatile, plus I’d get to play with it.

Ha ha, I wouldn't bank on that. Once she gets hold of the keys, you are not seeing them again.
