In fact, I can't see the need for the 2.8 unless it's to get features not available on the 2.4...
Without driving it I cannot say, but I have heard guys on certain useless Facebook pages saying similar things to what I said on the 2.2 Everest - the Tuna 2.4 is not great at towing heavy and overtaking at highway speeds, in saying that I think it would be the model to compare to the Everest as they are playing in the same category

It should be for you. Cannot compare 2.2 Everest to the 2.8 Tuna. As Uncle fruit and veg himself said. Apples with apples....

Ok, in all honesty, I would not buy the Ford, I would not buy any Ford or Mazda, we had a new Ford once and every time we had a warranty claim, yes more than 1, we had to fight to get the car repaired, we had to pay "labour costs" in order to get our car released back to us, so I was trying to be fair to all on the forum when compiling this write up, but I have been bitten once by Ford and they lost me as a client many years ago because of terrible customer service through the workshops and obviously inferior products, and I kept changing dealerships to try find good service, but alas, none was to be found, we sold the car to get rid of the headache and bought a Nissan X-Trail demo, that car served us very well.

Cool, no problem then. Here I thought it is only Renault that treat their customers so badly...

I had multiple BMW’s, Honda’s, VW’s, Audi’s, Jeeps & Renault’s. I used multiple dealers all over the country from each brand. Same with the Nissan I had.

The first Renault I bought in the early days after they returned to SA. The service was bad. But with my current one, they beat the service of all those dealers that I mentioned. Brilliantly service!

One thing you won't feel on a tar test drive is that the Ford and I think the Pajero Sport is permanent 4x4 which makes it much more desirable.

Once you have used a permanent 4x4 you can't be happy without a Centre diff.

Pajero Sport has the Super Select 2 system so you can change from 2WD to 4WD on the fly and then lock Centre diff and then low range.... the latter two settings are only to be used on gravel or loose surface to avoid drivetrain windup.
Flex is overrated

I drove a 3.2 xlt at in Lesotho and compared to the Hilux it was absolutely luxury and handled the rough stuff with comfort.

I must say as a Toyota man that Ford is desirable. I don't like the looks but it has all the kit.
