The big Scoops and haulers with 9.0l turbo engines undergroud must suck budgies at an alarming rate.Image

I’ve always thought Toyota copied Jeep, is Junky trying to prove the contrary?

They did. Up until the early 50’s, when they made Jeeps under license. The first Toyota off-roaders were based on the Bantam. The Land Cruiser name came into being after Willy’s got the Jeep trademark.

The first 1 ton bakkie was in the 1940’s but it wasn’t 4x4. Mitsubishi’s design was chosen over Toyota for the Korean War. Toyota then developed it further but didn’t make.

When was the first Toyota 4x4 bakkie? 1960’s?

The first Jeep 4x4 bakkie was in 1947. First Hilux 4x4 was 1978 or 79.

The first hybrid electrical 4x4 was built in 1904, one day everyone will copy VWImage

You never saw me when I had my D4 then. Was invited by a Jeep club once and was the only one to clear all but one obstacle which I chose not to attempt as it was made for seriously modified vehicles. Only one Jeep got through that but he did damage his vehicle due to being too aggressive.

Kingsley knows which is the most capable & it’s the old 300 tdi.

But other than that, I don’t see any modern Land Rovers even attempting to enter serious competitions to take on their ancestors.

Nope around the reliability of the vehicles. Yes they are sponsored as with everything else of his. You should read his blogs. Facinating.

Whenever a D3/4 comes with us, 75% of them shit their beds. The other 25% break on their next visit.

Also, you’ll never see a D3/4 competing.

Nor can any other non modified factory vehicle then. If a stock D4 can't do it nothing stock can.

Most vehicles on this day were stock, including the D4. Guess which one couldn’t finish the trail?
