New Tire Puncture Repair Tool

#1

Post by Paul#25 »

I saw this new puncture repair tool advertised on one of the overseas websites. It has a 'gun' that forces a rubber plug through the hole in the tire that then expands inside the tire and leaves a stem plugging the hole. To assist the nozzle of the tool going through the tire, you place a hard plastic pointed piece in the end of the nozzle.
I've got an old tire sitting at home that I want to use for a test before giving a report on the operation.
A friend brought 2 of the tools with him when he came back from Dubai. It costs me R500.

R500 is not bad, as any decent repair kit doesn't come much cheaper plus it's dirty job to use.

The normal snot/string plugs are also not meant to be permanent fixes but people leave them in for years.
I see this as a temp fix to get out of a pickle.
