Got both !! At the moment , in SA , Petrol kills you !! Long trips , over landing , Diesels wins for me ! Playing close to home , , the V8 wins !!

Johannes, ek verstaan die verbruikstorie heelteemal, maar die genot van 'n petrolvoertuig is vir MY baie meer werd as die besparing in brandstof. To each his own. As ek so na die internasionale tendense kyk, is VW se onderduimsheid besig om diesel in ligte voertuie se kraantjie toe te draai.

Het al genoem dat dieseldampe STINK...................................
................ en dat die goed RAAS.........................
................ en LUIGAT is (selfs mét turbo's)

Both have their obvious advantages & advantages.

But diesel is dead, especially small cc diesels.

We are still lucky in SA because of lessor diesel regulations, but it won’t last forever. Eventually what’s happening in the rest of the world, where petrol engines are replacing diesels will filter into SA. It’s already happening with some manufacturers who are ahead of the trend.

A good example is the Haval H9 with a 2.0T engine & is compared to a Prado in terms of concept & offroad ability.

We will see more & more of these sorts of petrol engines
