SAJCO Loses the plot
I have a Colt 2800D workhorse. It's a spare/backuo work bakkie for 'just in case'...
It has a severe vibration issue, it starts at 60km/h & is really bad by 70km/h
The steel canopy adds to the drama with a booming sound.
Took it to SAJCO Randburg as they had replaced the rear yoke 3 years/6700km ago.
After 2 days they concluded it must be the shocks.
Now, I'm no prop expert, but I'll tell you something for nothing
"When you feel a rotational oscillation is the shocks - you know less about your job than Cyril Ramarama Couch Stuffer".
I googled Propshaft places 'Driveshafts Centre in Malibongwe Dr came up.
But I have a rule: I will NOT use a company with less than 24 Google Reviews or a Google Rating below 4.5
My Company has 85 Reviews & a4.9 rating - so I feel I'm being fair.
Driveshafts Center has a 4.2 Star rating & after reading the negative reviews I decided no.
I realized that I'd probably end up beating someone like an unloved awkward Ginger stepchild gets beaten..
So I took it to Propshaft & CV Empire - 78 Reviews 4.8 Rating.
I'll let you know.
But SAJCO - no way!

SAJCO are fairly specialised : Prop Shafts & CV Joints.
your problem is probably to do with
suspension or wheel alignment etc

Stay away from Driveshaft Center in that Malibongwe center. Had family working there, scary stories.Mad Manny wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 2:48 pmI have a Colt 2800D workhorse. It's a spare/backuo work bakkie for 'just in case'...

I say it's the front prop from gearbox to bearing.

I had a Nissan pickup many moons ago and got rear ended. The propshaft was balanced, but the vibration just stayed. Eventually it was found that the main shaft in the gearbox was bent.
Couple of questions. Is the vibration there, under load? Without load, when you freewheel?
Bent sideshaft can also be a problem.

It's definately the propshaft that's out of kilter.
The fact that SAJCO couldn't work that out is very worrying.
After 2 days to come back & say 'We give up, maybe it's the shocks' shows the don't know what they are talking about.
But I'll await feedback from Mario of Propshaft & CV Empire.....

Make 100% sure of the phasing of that propshaft. When it is straight, it will run fine, even when it is out of phase. But install it and it bites.

Mario of Propshaft & CV Empire re-balanced the shaft.
I collected it today. Haven't driven it myself, but I believe it's sorted.
His service, workmanship & pricing is outstanding!
In fact, he charged so little I'm going to sponsor him a banner ad.
