Hi Alex, I've sent you a Text.
In my view (I may be wrong), the plaintiffs entire aim was not to win the case (too me it's frivolous, amongst other things).
His goal, I feel, was merely to cause me to incur the legal costs.
So I won't mention the amounts here...

Precisely why I think this is the kind of case that a reasonable magistrate should scratch with costs to the plaintiff...

As you know, the Plaintiff/s run a business supplying Goods/Services to, inter alia, the 4x4 Fraternity.
A few of you may have, at some stage, used their services.

Anyhoo, a while back, after a 4x4 outing, a few of us were having a beer & a chat.
One guy, who I didn't know too well, happened to mention the Plaintiff's company.
I said nothing as he spoke, but a fiend of mine interjected & said "Maybe listen to what Manny had to say!".
So this guy asks & I brushed him off saying that I have never used the Plaintif/s company.
The guy was now curious & wanted to know what happened, I stressed I have never engaged with the company as a client.
He pressed on, so I proceeded to tell them the whole long story spanning over the past few years.
However, I did tell it as briefly as possible.
The other guys at the table were shocked, but this guy seemed nonplussed.
He had a 'That's your problem Bro'." attitude.
The subject changed & we eventually all parted ways & I forgot all about it.

A few months later this guy calls me, asking me various questions about the matter.
I asked him why he is asking now, since he didn't seem particularly interested at the time.
He said he'd had a bad experience with their product & thought I had info that could help him.
I basically said I couldn't help & returned his 'That's your problem Bro'." attitude! :D  :)
He was very upset with this supplier, he felt he'd been hard done by, but I wasn't told the specifics, so cannot comment on who I felt was right or wrong.

Hi Paul, we've raised exactly between 33% & 50% of the amount required for the Trial Day/Court Day.
So it's going extremely well & I am most grateful.

This Thread has been a very interesting & reassuring adventure.
I thought long & hard about starting this Thread, but I'm glad I did.
Obviously the financial support has been overwhelming, but it's more than that.
The support I've received from Club members, Forum members & even guys who are neither has been most moving.

Received a call from a guy who asked about it & he was shocked to learn who the Plaintiff/s are.
He is actually a client of theirs. We had an interesting chat!

But then there was a guy who posts regularly who didn't even know about this Thread!
Seems some guys only log on to punt their own stuff! :D They don't really read the Forum...

Seeing my Lawyer soon for Pre-Trial.
Court Date is 18 February.

We are nearly on 50%.
Hope to get close to the full amount by then.
But every bit helps & I'm grateful - even if we don't get there! Image

I have so much to tell you guys once this is over.
Things like;
What happened to my co-accused (who's comments were actually a tad harsh)
Others who have also received legal Threats.
Etc.

Maybe I need to host a 'Supporters Braai' in early March! :D Image

# Feedback: We are getting close to having raised 2/3rds of the amount required.
Once again, thank you to everyone for their support...

Morning!
Had the meeting with the lawyer. All went well.

Some background on my plans wrt to this Thread.
Phase One is FD (Fund Raising.
This phase has gone very well.
Phase one will end @17:00 on the 17th of February

Phase Two is the actual court day/s.
As soon as this phase is over & there isa ruling, I promise I'll post the outcome here.

The final phase is Phase Three, this I call the RRRR phase.
One of the R's is for Recognition. That's to recognise all those who have supported this matter.
This will be in the form of a Braai I will host.
I'll explain what the others R's stand for, then.

#So where are we?
Well there was a small bill from the lawyer, which I've settled.
Then there is a larger one which will be covered by the Contributions paid so far. (Thank You!)
I'll pay that shortly, directly from the Club Account.
Then there is the final bill, we are R8 000.00 short for that one.
I hoping we are able to raise that by the 18th, when I suspect it'll be due.

Thanks everyone!
