The Moegatle Summer Festival. heavily sponsored by Maxxis Tyres was, yet again, a lekker event.
From the Club we had:
1. Peet Bugjuc
2. Manny
3. Ant
4. Rechard
5. Douw
6. Ian the Cnut DVL & his family.
7. Angelique

We did NOT see Kevin, Chalet, Gayphin.

But everyone who is anyone in the 4x4 World was there:
Muller Van Tonder von Stremlau Coetzee & his family.
Jon Wen & The Maxxis gang.
Reps from EFS & some company doing Bushings.
Many of the Patrol guys.
Guys like Kieth & John Avbob.
Hedgehog & his son (Angeliques BF).
Johan Swift.
Former4x4AG Committee member Incredible Bob.
Etc.

The guys did the trail on Saturday but I chilled at camp.

Congratulations to Peet Bucjuc who conquered the Klip (Koos Se Klim)J
A Patrol snapped when it tried to do the Klim, proof that a Patrol can't follow a sussie bussie.i
I'll post the videos that Douw took on the Club info group.

Overall a great weekend, the only negative is that IanDVL is a Cnut, read on....

On leaving Moegatle this morning there was a worrying noise once I went over 8km/h.
It was puzzling as it sounded like a Side-Shaft had gone, but I knew it hadn't.

Douw had already left & we were to meet him for Breakfast in Brits.
There is poor cell phone signal at Moegatle, so I couldn't tell him I need to investigate the noise.
So we (Tammy & I) drove out the entrance to get signal & then we called Douw.

We agreed I'd drive to Douw & then we'd look for the problem together.

While chatting to Douw my phone rang, it was Ian the Cnut DVL.
Ian said "There is a rumour someone tied cable ties to your driveshaft!"
I swore at Ian & jumped under the Mighty Fearless.

Ian the Cnut DVL (or someone) had tied a whole bunch of Cable ties around my driveshaft.

I cut them off & sped off to meet Douw.

The End...

Sick kids, I really am sad to have missed the event but with fevers, we couldnt be so far from a hospital.
We decided mid afternoon to rather give away our accommodation before it was too last minute.

Who leaves a campsite without checking their propshaft for cable ties???

I have driven up Koos in my 1985 Safari plenty of times.
The Patrol in question though is completely over capitalized, literally and figuratively.
Had that Patrol been stock, it would have gone up no problem.

Before Manny blames everybody, it was I who put the cable ties on. But it was a team effort. The rest of the team can remain anonymous. :)
