Outventure Squaredrop - 2 Sleeper

#1

Post by Mad Manny »

LX, my black brother from another mother, found a new Trailer & very kindly sent me the details.

The Company is Outventure Offroad Caravans.
The Caravan is the 2 Sleeper 'Square Drop"
The price is under R200k, but that excludes the battery & fridge.
They are based in Brackenfell (so, Capies).
Website: www.outventure.co.za

I had a long chat to the owner, Len Metcalfe - so not an Afrikaner.
Very nice, soft-spoken guy, no ego. Very passionate about his product.

Check it out, the Website is not great, but there is more info on FakeBoek
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61550732696722

I have added the Trailer to the list on this Thread:

viewtopic.php?f=29&t=1554

We now have 14 Off Road 2 Sleeper Caravans to choose from...

Currently there are not many of these Trailers outside of the WC.
He did sell one, sight unseen, to a guy in Bloem.

I'm hoping that Len will send one up to Gauteng so we can take a closer look.

It looks like that Naledi camper is only for powered campsites.
Not suitable for wild camping.
Also the fridge is in the nose cone but the kitchen is in the back.
So, for me, personally, it's out.

But Remo, I hope you guys make great adventures in it... .

Thanks Manny I find it quite an interesting option. Will definitely have a very good look at it.
You will never find me without Stroh or a 4x4 :D

Completely setup for off grid camping as standard with solar panel etc...I'm also weary of the long walk to the fridge, but I recon I'm more than a meal or two ahead so maybe a good thing!

Manny, for affordability 8/10, design 8/10, would we swap the Invader I doubt it. We bought at the rite time, would I pay the new Invader Duo X's price I doubt it.

I've asked Len to give us details of the bed size, it looks like a double, also details of the suspension.

The only issue I can see is that you have to slide the fridge back in, in order to stand in front of the stove, the fridge slides out into the spot you'll stand to cook.
