Vehicle and Forum names?
Always interested in how people have come about the names of their Vehicles and Forum names?
Basically state how you decided or got your Forum Alias(if you have one) and how you decided on your vehicle name or how it was given to you and stuck?
Myself:
Forum Alias: Long ago when life was easy and gaming was everything, loved the movie Beetle-juice, beetle being a bug and the ‘e’ rendering useless as it provides no sound, decided to leave it. Hence Bugjuic!
Vehicle: Unwillingly given to me when driving a few trips with the Patrol guys, but not missing a beat driving with them. Decided to keep it as a souvenir and own it! Sussiebussie for the Fortuner!

It's all relative...

I always thought you were a victim of mosquito bites. Your blood being bugjuic.
Trolly fan because I like trollies.
Toro - because the previous owner put a large sticker of a bull on the side.
Skilpad - because the previous owner laser cut the name on the front grill. I cannot change it.
Shortie - because it is a short wheel base (kind of borrowed from Graham Cahill's car in 4wd/247, although he rarely drives it nowadays)
Masewa - because wify drives it.

Paul#25 is my name and race number. I started using the number 25 when I was racing motorbikes in the 80's. I continued to use it on my Lotus 7 replica I raced in Lotus Challenge, taking two Regional Championships. On the racing forums I started using the Paul#25 name as most of the guys associated the person with the car. The name stuck on other automotive and aircraft forums so I carried on using it here.
I refer to my Discovery 2 Td5 as the Disco. I've never really bothered naming vehicles.

My forum name is just my name and abbreviated surname - I don't hide behind pseudonyms. I don't really have names for vehicles. I refer to it as the truck or the Patrol.

Mitsu Fan is my name on that other forum we dare not mention. That came about because I just love Mitsus. Driving number 5 now.

SAXJ (South African XJ) was a name I chose when I owned a Jeep Cherokee XJ and the first forum I signed up to was a US forum, jeepforum.com. It was easier just to keep the same name on other forums.
My current car is nicknamed Yoda - Small, the Master and kicks everyones butts.
Incidentally the Mountain Rescue team I belong to started calling me Yoda around the same time that I got the car. Probably to do with my stature, age, wisdom and my affinity for martial arts.

Mike-PS abbreviation for
Pajero Sport
She is called Ody - short for Odysseus. Stick with me for a quick history lesson.
Odysseus was the King of Ithaca, a small island in Greece where I come from.
As you know Odyssey gets used a lot in describing difficult journeys. This was brought about by King Odysseus when he went to support the Greeks to fight in the 10 year Trojan war and where he was the one to build the Trojan horse and eventually kick the Trojans in their nuts.
Unfortunately during this time he pissed off the God of Poseidon and when trying to get back home Poseidon laid kak obstacles in his way. Eventually after another 10 years his Journey back to Ithaca was complete however when he got there he still had to moer a few wannabies who wanted to take his thrown and steek his wife.
And that be it…

Yip the Trojan war was part of the Odyssey, a Poem 'written' by Homer about Odysseus.
Odysseus is his Greek name, in Latin & English we call him Ulysses.
Interesting that Homer wrote the poem about 400 years after the events were supposed to have taken place.
Also interesting - Homer was blind.
Helen, the wife stolen by Paris & taken to Troy, the event that started the war, was a Spartan.
The Trojan horse story gave rise to the saying "Be careful of Greeks bearing gifts"...
