Some of my favourite childhood camping memories were when it was raining.

My mother would make pancakes on the gas stove under the gazebo. The rain soothing you to sleep during the night.
It was fun trying to stay dry, engineering the tarps as best as possible. And then my dad would wait for an unsuspecting victim, and pour out the dammed-up water on the gazebo on someone.

Now, as an adult, when we go camping, I always tell the wife how nice it was when it was raining, so much so, that she is begging me to go camping in the rain. (Although, I don't know how much "camping" we'll get done)

I'm glad you got to experience the joy of camping in the rain Mike.

Can’t wait for my next wet camping weekend. Surely I’m about 2 of those away from receiving my revoked man card back again 😜🤣
Mike, you seem unhappy.

So we went camping in the rain.

Random Bitching and whining

Anyways. Can’t wait for my next wet camping weekend. Surely I’m about 2 of those away from receiving my revoked man card back again 😜🤣
We went camping in the rain forests of Costa Rica… it rained from the moment we arrived…

Truly an amazing experience. Woke up to the sound of Toucans.

Imagine if camping owners had to refund everyone at first sign of clouds in the sky...

Never once said I wanted a refund. Credit me.

And you guys keep missing the point. We used to camp in the rain. Heck. We even camped whilst it was snowing. But that was pre kids. And not 16 year old kids. 4 Year old kids. Not much fun.

Anyways. I see talking to you lot (Not aiming this specifically at you Hedgehog. Having a dig at all of you) is like talking to a brick wall, or a 4 year old, or Manny. ;) :)

While we on rants about campsites.

My pet peev is the idiots who find it necessary to get fall down drunk and then need to scream and shout late into the night. Happens so often at resort type campsites or bush type campsites , locally and across our borders. The common denominator is that 99% of the time the perpetrators are Saffers. We just don’t know how to behave.

Way I see it, camping in the rain still trumps a sunny day in Pretoria any day...
^^
Its extra effort especially with a 2 year old trying to keep him busy and dry, but I never regret a rainy weekend. At the time it is hell though haha.

We dont have much fancy stuff, tent leaks a bit, it will dry out.
Wifey and I can play cards, get our feet wet while little one watches Cocomelon on the trailer top mattress. I think biggest issue is hot food for him while trapped in a tent.

Weather these days is such a gamble its not worth cancelling for a rain forecast.

Your reading skills are letting you down. Again.

Never asked for a refund.

And…..we are anti TV, Tablets etc for the kids when camping. They should play outside.

Next time we see it’s going to rain over the weekend, ill fly you down at my expense, and you can entertain my kids.

It’s very obvious our weather predicting Apps are more reliable than the ones you get up there in Shitsville

Surely this should be under Vehicles and not a campsite Rant?
