Nothing. WHY? WTF, people. The wrangler has seat warmers as standard: we've used them once as a joke. Wireless chargers? My R1000 android doesn't need it. Ditto fancy music phone sync crap.Mike Nel wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 3:24 pmLet me ask a different question.
You walk into a dealership. Any dealership for that matter.
You choose your vehicle. The salesmen/women then puts a list of optional creature comforts in front of you. What would you choose? I'm not talking about 4x4 accessories, creature comforts. Things like wireless chargers, 360 degree cameras, tooshie warmers/coolers in seats. Stuff like that
Do you use all the Technology in your vehicle?

When I bought the basic, white, VW Polo ( new ) years ago the only extra I opted for was the radio/music unit.
It turned out to be a lemon and didnt work properly.
The VW agent tried to maintain it was OK and my disks were scratched and dirty and 'pick-up' (?) now dirty etc
Complained to VW SA who instructed agent to replace.
He then just swapped unit out from a well used demo vehicle ...
VW SA then sided with 'their' agent and I ended up
with a notably aged/used unit after my paying for new.
VW is not half the brand and company it once was.
Quality and Service now very mediocre or inadequate.

Self dimming rear view - fantastic stuff
Adaptive Cruise control - fantastic stuff
Self leveling headlights
Self leveling rear suspension - awesome when towing
Hill Hold - Love it
Cooled seats - it is nice, really
Torque Vectoring - awesome stuff
Terrain management

Let me think of more stuff I like a lot in cars

Not, what you do not have, but what would you choose if you could

Most lockers engage from inside the vehicle.
Unless you're referring to free-wheel hubs...

OK, I'll bite:
- Cruise control but only on an auto box vehicle (pretty much standard on most anyway?)
- Auto-on headlights (ditto)
- Manual headlight levelling (dashboard rotary switch: again, ditto above)
And something that almost NOBODY offers : a decent OBD interface and display...........why remove all critical gauges but have no proper indication of an error? Surely you should have the option to check critical engine specs like coolant temp instead of illuminating an idiot light?

Exactly. My old parraffin model required that you get out (often knee deep in the mud) to lock the front hubs.
I have since rectified that with an electric locker.
It also doesn't have cruise control as it's nearly as old as Jakes.. ...

Well duh....
Sometimes when we open a tap - water flows....
And if we're really lucky the lights are on so that we can see it all happen!

I have all the tech I need. I won't share what I think of people that want everything in life to be easy and automatic: they will learn nothing and will be useless individuals. The leaders of the human race love a little hardship and diversity: the rest are just drones.

Cant agree more, look daily driving the nissan is quite comfortable, but for sure does not give me nearly as much much pleasure as cruising around in the Old Over Modified Suzuki! The most technically advance part on it is probably the auto timing glow plug relay.jakeslouw wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 8:46 amI have all the tech I need. I rather believe that Mike Nel, the OP, was referring to the gadgetry in modern cars often listed in 3 letter acronyms:
ABS
HDC
ASC
EBD
VSC
PDC
BAS
HUD
Etc
As well as stuff like
Lane Assist
Blind Spot Monitoring
Yaw Control
Iintelligent AWD
Torque Vectoring
Software Updates via Internet.
Etc...
