Yip. As mentioned, the people that buy them tend not to list airbags etc as a priority. Same with Defender owners.
They have other needs.

The most revealing information so far w.r.t. the new Jimny’s various features is available here. But I think the specs listed here might mostly only be for Japan. (Kei car)

Use some translation foo to get to the juicy stuff. Like sensing a vehicle or Pedestrian and avoiding the crash by applying brakes for you. I do hope this is switched off in low range though. [emoji4]
And a couple of good pictures but no specs

And then a bunch of wish renderings from the lot at Motor1

Well, since October I have been following this with interest.
The look has never changed.
The fact that is a ladder frame SFA with Low range has never charged.
But the engine story keeps changing,
Initially they said 1.2plus a diesel.
Then Suzuki abandoned all diesels (not that they had any).
Then the 1.0 BoosterJet story broke.
Then we were told there'd be a choice of a Boosterjet for advanced economies and a NA motor for low countries.
Around the time the Japs leaked their 660cc Kei car a 1.5 motor surfaced and the 1.2 motor story disappeared.
It seems to me there will be two versions, the Jimny Kei for Japan & an export version they call Sierra.
The Jimny Sierra will come in two specs, BoosterJet with high tech for advanced economies & 1.5 for back lands.
I suspect we may get both. India too.
If the interior is 50mm wider & 50mm longer & the power to weight is decent, I'll give it a serious look.
Seems November is our date, but you'll only see them on the road in private hands in early 2019...

I am sure the wider is based on wheel arches rather than anything else, the longer might be bumper shapesMad Manny wrote:Well, since October I have been following this with interest.

Could this be sarcasm?

I am biased. Owned a jimny for two years. Will have to wait and test drive it first
But that duster... eish.

It certainly got my attention.
I may not be able to afford a proper G Wagon, but a baby G might just make me feel a bit better
