Indian made Jimny's

Word on the streets are that some of these Jimny's made in India have been seen on dealers floors. The paintwork is not so good. One wonders what else might not be good? If only Indian made Jimny's are available in future sales might drop.

Apparently they made some HiLuxes as well and they were not good either.

At least, when you phone the Suzuki call centre, you will get through to the okes who manufactured the vehicle, directly.

The 3 door Jimny is made in India for export.
The indians, who no longer get a Jimny since the Gypsy (SJ) was discontinued a few years back, very kindly and graciously export every Jimny they make. Such selflessness.

In time, despite what SAXJ says, they will start making a 5 door Jimny that will be sold in India.

If, like Christoffle, you think the Indian made Jimny is inferior, consider this:
The Toyota Starlet is made in India.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser is made in India.
India also made the Etios, they build the Ford Fiesta, nearly every Suzuki sold in SA is made by Maruti Suzuki.

In fact, Maruti Suzuki build more vehicles that Suzuki Japan.

The biggest tractor manufacturer in the world is in India.

So relax, Pravesh, Subaash and Sanjay are doing their best to get cheap well-made vehicles to your dealership as fast as possible...
