We all know they are illegal - but it's been confirmed by the court

These laws are ridiculous!
How are you to let everyone know you are sexually attracted to your mom if you cant fit a Light Bar?
Other than putting a Star Decal on a non Wrangler's doors. .

The law is clear - same there as here - you may have 1 set of lights that are either a single lamp dim beam / high beam combination or a seperate high beam lamp and low beam lamp
In addition, you may have one pair of additional driving lamps arranged symmetrically across the front, with the centres lower than 1,4m and which do not have clear glass and which have an 'E' mark anf comply as driving lamps according to the EU rules on that.
In addition you may have one set of fog lamps which are symmetrically placed, I think they have to be lower than the dipped beam lamp, and which light pattern falls shorter (may be wider) than the dip beam pattern .
Globes must be SABS / EU rule compliant and feature an E mark. Blue ones etc are out.
Plus (obviously) parking lamps (white) and the indicators.
On top of that you can have roof line marker lamps (on the roof, max 4) ,emergency vehicle lamps on roof and in grille - if it is a police car, blue flashing lights, if it's an ambulance, red flashing lights, Tow truck or service - yellow flashing lights, and emergency other - green flashing lamps
All must be registered as such.
Taxis may have a yellow/orange illuminated sign on the roof, security service vehicles may have a white illuminated sign on the roof.
That's it for the front facing lamps as far as I recall...

Thats how the Traffic Chief in Parys explained it to me as he thought my headlights were too high. But I made it with 200mm to spare, so he had no issue with my lift.
