Chas, give an example of these other things you would fit in addition to the TRMS that you allude to in the etcetera...

Have decided. Made lots of calls. Did visual inspections. Received informative WhatsApp's. Read tyre reviews.

It also become clear in all my searches that 3 plies are not equal.

Seeing my history with Maxxis my trust level in them is very low. As hard as I did try I could not find any consistent reports on the RAZR`s longevity.
Does not seems that they do much better than 60k km. Also on the American Raptor forum lots of complaints about side wall cuts.
I have had around 10 sets of BF`s on different vehicles over many years. Only 1 puncture
and a side wall cut that most of 4x4AG witnessed on the Namaqua Eco route.

When I started this thread I was quoted R4490.00 per BFG tyre. Got a quote yesterday that is seriously good.

My good friend Manny also pointed out load ratings are an important spec that slipped my mind. Thanks Manny. With that a few can beat BFG.

BFG it will be.
You will never find me without Stroh or a 4x4 :D

... there are various TP sensors that can be fitted
... external and internal ... but its not just about accessories Manny ... its about the tyres monitoring and treatment by the driver/owner that will impact their life/condition/service. eg ('for example' ) I believe if you run BFGs at too high a pressure over rubbly roads excessively they can get parting of the layers internally and even damage of the steel meshing without outside
expression or symptoms.
... not just about gadgets, accessories etc ...

( P.S. ... dont you mean TPMS ... ? )

fixed
