Many, many years ago when were Toyota's were reliable well-built vehicles (as they still are) I read a report in CAR magazine about the new Corolla (Still RWD in those days)...
They said the Corolla launched here was different to the ones in other countries;

Firstly, the radiator was bigger as we have higher ambient temps & drive longer distances @ those temps.

Secondly, the front seat runners were 50mm longer as Saffa's are taller & bigger & need to move the seat back further.

Lastly, we got an 1800, in other markets the 1800 was reserved for the next model up, the Carina, but we didn't get the Carina.
So, because many Toyota's would be used at altitude (the highveld), it was decided to offer the 1800 here.

Many manufacturers do a bit of localization (some don't) examples;

Better cooling

Better dust sealing

Harder wearing floor mats

The Isuzu tailgate has a center hinge in SA - not in other markets.

More sound reduction.

Sometimes thicker sidewalls on bakkies.

Yes, the333i was developed because we never got the 1st 3 series in M3 form.

Dropping the Ford 5.0V8 into theXR6 Body was also SA only.

The Ford Perana Capri was developed by Basil Green.
A guy we knew had a red one with black vinyl roof & black Perana rear louver.
I dreamt of owning one.

Defender 2.8i

Correct, Land Rover was owned by BMW back then (Land Rover, like Jeep, gets owned more than a cheap whore).
They dropped a BMW 2.8i motor into the Landy. Not economical - but it went!!!

Obviously the greatest example of 'localisation' was the City Golf.
Another was the Tazz.

A brilliant current example is the Isuzu KB 250 base & Fleetside.
They run the old 250 'Compensated motor'

This motor was dropped worldwide when the KB4 (D-Max shape) was out.
However Isuzu SA managed to convince them to let them keep it.
When the KB5 was launched, the new 250 D-Teq motor was introduced.
Isuzu SA again got permission to drop the old 250 DI into the new model.
With the launch of the KB6/D-Max Isuzu SA had to make a serious case for the continued use of the old 250.
I'm glad Japan agreed - I have one, it's brilliant.

I doubt the 2020/21 D-Max will include it though...

The Isuzu Frontier was launched in 1996, based on the KB, but with a shorter wheelbase. I’m not 100% sure but this was a Delta creation wasn’t it?

No, it wasn't.
I saw an Opel MU in Switzerland which was basically a SWB Frontier.

But the Nissan Sani was 100% an SA creation.

SP were a twin carb version of the 1600 SA only

And the S looked close to the 1303 international models had still link pin suspension and Swing axle
Instead if MC phearson front and rear IRS
Bonnet also similar but different

Toyota Corolla RSi/RXi our corolla shape was different to the Euro spec and we got the 4AGE 20V motor and they didn't.

Polo Vivo

Opel Corsa C, Europe got 16v motors, we got lumped with old tech 8v motors.

VW Caddy van (current) we get the 1.6 N/A motor, Europe get 1. 0TSI motor.

... but my SP Beetle was made in Brazil ...
yes Twin carbs and perked up and
had two large diameter exhaust pipes ...
yellow tarton cloth seats etc etc
... all as standard ...

... twin carbs is tricky by the way ...
was on my SP , is on my RRClassic
... have to be tuned together
to work in sync ...
