Easy Introductory Day Outing

#1

Post by Mad Manny »

Would there be much interest in an outing, OPEN TO ALL, aimed an the newer guys & novices.
A basic intro to it all. Not just driving your vehicle on a 4x4 course, but the whole 4x4 scene.

Basically a morning session with a broad overview of 4x4'ing touching on;
* Types of 4x4'ing
* Terrains
* Training
* The different vehicles & how they differ.
* Safety
* Recoveries
* Outings
* Trips
* Trails
* Camping
* Overlanding
* Challenges & competitions
* The history of it all.
* Organisations & Clubs & bodies.
* What TV shows to follow.
* Etc...

Just to inform new entrants what's on offer & how to get the most from owning an Off Road vehicle

Yes I do feel there would be interest in such an outing.
Putting something like this together and getting it out to a wide audience can be very positive for the whole 4x4 fraternity as well as the club. It can also benefit people like myself and others as a refresher course.

I agree.

This will be well worth trying.

I am sure the club has many members who would love to be eased into off roading grade 1 to 2 with a 3 thrown in for the braver ones

I could easily get 2 mates that are new/thinking of buying a 4x4 to come through. I might even go through for a refresher and maybe even learn something new.

That would be awesome. It can certainly generate some funds for the 4x4 AG.

Howzit, just registered. I have about 10 people, non-members (for now) that I shared the FB post with, that would be interested. Waiting to hear on dates, location and costs.

Manny

That's quite a lot to cover in a morning.
