I did the Mafunyane trail, similar to the Lebombo but shorter, I took my caravan.
It was good fun, the best is going to the loo at night and then finding predator tracks over yours, the next morning....

Wow!!! Bucket list item!
I guess with off road caravans allowed, big wheeled camping trailers should be ok too?

Bugger,
I want to try something new, these are all tours that is all guided. Busy chatting to the guide, and we are discussing a 5 or six tour, either in early May or Early June.
same rules apply. low range 4x4 a must.
Will update soon.

Martin noted, would have considdered inviting 3 mates, and make this my 40th birthday present. My kids are way too young for something like this.Martin de Jager wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 6:22 pmCornel, good day, just take note, no kids under 12 allowed.

Hi there guys. I'm really interested and my wife gave me the nod to go on this trail as my 40th birthday present.
I have a stock standard Ford Everest 3.2 XLT 4x4 AT, and a Wilderness 310 offroad trailer with TTT (With Senior tent which should sleep 4 easily, and with awnings removed should pitch and take down quickly). I would want to invite my brother, and two mates with me who would enjoy the trip for the photography opportunities rather than liquor.
I will fit proper AT tyres for this trip.
Would you considder this to be sufficient equiptment for this trip? Would I be allowed to invite non-members with?

Hi everyone,
I have been communicating with tour operator that has the concession in Limpopo and Kruger National Park. So further to my previous post this is the options he can offer you.
1. The Baderukwe 4x4 Toer is planned drive from Letaba Ranch (Letaba 4x4 roete) to the Kruger (Malopeni 4x4 roete) in the Palaborwa area. It is scheduled for the 03–08 Mei 2020.
2. Die Luvuvhu River Valley five night challenging 4x4 tour (dit sluit die Makuya 4x4 roete in) is in die Makuya Natuurreservaat naby Pafuri. Scheduled for 23–28 Junie 2020.

I have invited Johan Du Plooy to join our forum.
He takes 5-6 cars at a time , and
Personally I am aiming to do the second tour but I will only do it in 2021,
If my options allows me then I will try for 2020.
feel free to make contact with Johan du Plooy on 082 852 2395.
Trust you will enjoy this,

We did a guided Makuya trip a few years back. Please take the following with the disclaimer that people like different things.
I did not like it and neither did anyone in our group. Makuya is devoid of life. (A hunting concession in the Winter time and probably poached and snared within an inch of it's life)
If you are interested in driving some rocky roads for the full day every day and testing the strength of your spine and equipment then go for it. If you are thinking that there is going to be some nice sand driving along the river and you going to see some game, don't go. (The last mentioned was the idea sold to us and what we expected) I would rather go for the trips inside of Kruger, at least there will be game...

Just to make sure, I was commenting on Makuya (and parts of Letaba Ranch) specifically. Not the lebombo eco trail or any Sanparks trail. I have not been on the Sanpark ones and they are still on my bucket list...
