No matter how good it looks, all recovery points are always somewhere reliant on either a weld or a bolt, a thought that never escapes the back of my mind as I wind these two monsters up!

And then the second thought, the better you’re own recovery points are, the more likely that your face would be the target for the broken bits should something fail![emoji15]

Shall we move on to the topic of bridals and lanyards?[emoji12]

They’re probably not! But they’re ISO rated!

They’re stamped 10.2 for what its worth! I’ll start looking for proper high tensile bolts... We live in quite a corrosive environment and I like stainless steel’s more malleable qualities as it gives you a bit of warning at the cost of not being that strong! Open for advice [emoji848]

Anyway it’s on the platkar, so it doesn’t get abused as much as the other one.

I will let slip that it recovered one of the big three, that was stuck to it’s diffs, in sticky mud, the other day, without any hesitation or deformation!

Hi guys,
my front remains standard, afterall I have a winch, and its a Fortuner does not get stuck easily, the rear more to anchor, when I need to recover someone in trouble.

Mr. de Jager

I consulted with my member regarding your rear recovery point. The thingy is too thin and is going to bend your shackle pin. See photo.

Martin, no need to test it, but your shackle pin might bend and then it is difficult to undo it.

The so called member? Just my member!

Dit is nie my opinie nie. Dit is 'n feit. Die shackle pin moet 'n amper stywe pas wees in die recovery point. Die recovery point moet so dik wees as wat die shackle pin wyd is. Anders buig die shackle pin.
