No-brainer. The Merc would always be more refined to drive.
Not much is said of its off-road capability though?

I spoke to a chap at AD last week who has a kitted out Navara. I took a photo but can’t find it.
So I asked him about the coils.
He used to have a Hilux previously & reckons the Hilux was better when wanting to step the backend out in sand. This makes sense because of the leafs.
On road he reckons it feels the same. But on trails the rear coils give considerably more ability due to the extra articulation

I don’t want to start a new thread on the Merc. Just because, well, it’s a Merc and it’s a bakkie. Nothing really to get excited about.
But the new engine is here. The mighty V6. Comes with a hefty price tag as well.
Any thoughts?

I would say its probably a lovely bakkie, but for a lot less $$$ I could find another bakkie (with the same chassis) that will also keep me happy...

I doubt it, as the Navara V9X sold in small numbers, and although Merc has used the Nissan/Renault engine in the cheaper double cabs they might not want to share the bigger CC's with the competition... giving them an edge if you want to drop all that moolah on a bakkie.
