Who is going where over the Festive season?

I generally don't go away in December, historical thing.
I find that, if you are not going overseas, you have two choices:
1. Bush
2, Beach
The Bush is hot & sweaty & full of bugs.
The Beach is crowded & expensive.

I have had a few December holidays to hidden gems, but mostly I stay in Gauteng.
NO WHERE in SA has as nice weather over December as Gauteng, also there are no crowds (if you avoid the malls).
So I enjoy staying here...

But that's just me, share your plans...

At home over December. Like Manny says good place to be JHB because everyone else has left town.
Then just after Xmas we normally go to Matamba bush camp for a week. But some arsholes made it unpleasant last time so may just do Taaibos.

The wife works in retail & is not allowed leave over the festive season, so I'm just chilling in Gauteng over Christmas holidays [and entertaining in-laws who come up from the WC to visit].
Sadly don't own an offroader. It's too flat living on a small island.

Because we are spoiling ourselves to a tropical island getaway (we leave tomorrow) and its costs a small fortune, we have booked a 5 night camp at Pilanesberg over end Dec/Jan, and then SWAMBO found a bargain at Sun City Cabanas for 2 nights, but that's more for the kid to enjoy the Valley of the Waves (she's never been there before), not really my thing.

Jan tuis bly se karretjie ry - for me.

Opening a new business in January 2020 and literally have no money for vacation.

December get aways/ holidays are over rated in any case.

Everything is more expensive and crowded.

Except for next year, my wife and I always go on leave over February - March.

Staying in Pta . Like most of you said , places are crowded an over rated and expensive. We close around the 13th December.
Maybe a one day trip , kungweni , or somewhere close.
We can maybe , closer to the time , organise ??

Bugger organized a nice trial last year to Bass Lake.

He said in his post he may just go that again.

That will be great
