Didn’t the previous Pajero Sport have engine replacement issues due to overheating?

My serious reply...

Based on Mike's Criteria (4x4 SUV between R500k & R750k) & assuming he wants Low Range too...

There are only 5 vehicles that fit the criteria:
Ford Everest, Haval H9, Isuzu MU-X, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport & the Toyota Fortuner.

You could maybe, with a push, include the Jeep Renegade TrailHawk & the cheapest Disco Sport/Evoque but they are essentially glorified softroaders.

The Mahindra Scorpio S11 is way under R500k so it doesn't meet the OP's criteria.

No Subaru has Low Range.

So my list, in order, is;
1. Isuzu MU-X
2. Ford Everest
3. Mitsubishi Pajero Lite
4. Toyota Fortuner
5. Haval H9

In Australia they get a nice Ssangyounf Rexton - but Ssangyoung has left SA.... not that anyone noticed...
