- Leather welder's apron - used as a ground cover when I need to get under the vehicle and as a strap restrainer (in place of sandbags) on the recovery strap for snatch recoveries

I know it's not quite what you asked for, but this is what I carry every day as they never leave the car.

I don't do trails - none of them here.
When I do venture into the bush (read Kaokoveld, Opuwo, Ruacana) I take the following:
1) Hi-lift Jack;
2) Box of assorted bolts, nuts, clamps, cable ties, electrical fittings etc.)
3) Tyre repair kit
4) Compressor (160l/min)
5) Tow cable
6) Shovel
7) Tool box
8) Beer.
No gloves. I am not afraid of grease or splitting a nail.
