The 2018 Duster

This is the new one due for launch latter in the year. It’s getting some very positive reviews.

I reckon the top spec will be circa R340k

You can buy a lot of 4x4 with 340K in the second hand market
I’m not sure I would spend that kind of money on a duster

No, not second hand. That’s the new price.

A second hand Duster would also be cheaper.

Anybody that compares a second hand car to a new car misses the point.

I hope we are only referring to the Duster 4WD.

How does the new one differ from the previous one?

Does it still use the X-Trail AWD system?

I wouldn’t dare post 2wd vehicle topics here. There’s already a forum for that.

Even between the version I have (Gen1) & the current model (Gen2), there’s a big difference in refinement. All the irritants were addressed & it also feels better.

The new one is apparently an even bigger improvement. It’s got very little wind noise, engine is slightly better & there’s more kit.

Mechanically it’s virtually the same vehicle underneath including the XTrails basic 4WD system. But the XTrails centre could only be locked up to 50 or 55 kph, whereas the Duster goes to 80 kph.

I’m saying you can buy something else (not duster) second hand for 340k

Ask yourself, would you rather have a divorced Japanese/German wife or a virgin French lady?
