If Appoc only get his arse in gear and explains the inherent torque of a flywheel/ rotating assy of an engine it will be very clear why I am not fond of small engines in 4x4`s. These little diesels looks good on paper but fails to impress with low down torque crucial for serious 4x4 work. Yes they have successfully hide this with the modern multi speed auto boxes. But nothing comes close to a big engine lugging through obstacles or scaling up inclines on idle.
I cannot agree more!!! Furthermore, to wring the torque and power from a small capacity engine means more internal stress which HAS to influence durability. There is NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT.

N 5.7 is seker nicer as n 3.0. Meer torque ens.
Maar groter displacement kom nie outomaties met minder stress wat lange lewe bied nie.
Kom ons vergelyk 2 bakkies, beide min of meer selfde gewig, met engines aan uithoeke van displacement. 2.0 amarok vs 3.2 ranger:
Ek dink die 2.0 amarok is al langer uit as die 3.2 ford ( nie n kenner oor een van 2, maar n raaiskoot), maar vir my klink dit of daar baie meer probleme met die 3.2 is as met die 2.0. Maar, tog, met die siening dat groter altyd beter/meer betroubaar sal wees, sou mens dit anders verwag het. Dit wil voorkom asof daar wel n replacement for displacement plaasvind...
