Easy question.

I've been pondering getting a set for at least 2 years now. Yes or No?

Only you can answer based on your intentions with respect to off-roading trails you want to do and how often you are likely to use them. It also depends on how low you deflate on sand [emoji6]
Flex is overrated

I think it depends if you 4x4 alone or not. Whenever I was stuck, there was always someone who pulled me out.

They are expensive, but I think its a nice to have

If you haven't needed them in the last 2 years, then why bother?

Consider when we were at ADAMS how you were spinning using Mall road tyres vs the Land Cruiser that glided up the dunes. Buying an expensive tyre not suited to the correct application is a waste of money. Not a tyre expert .

They are all expensive. Securetec have the green ones that probably cost the same.

Then XBull I think are much cheaper

I also nearly bought some a few years back but a mate of mine had them & I only saw him try to use them once. On that occasion he gave up & I just used a strap instead. It’s much quicker.

But if your off-roading alone then it’ll be justifiable that one time when you really need something like that as a self recovery tool.

But they do take up space. That’s why you see a lot of guys have them bolted outside their canopy.

With my XJ I carried 2 big empty nylon braaiwood bags that are folded up. Then I could just fill them with sand or soil in order to make effective sand bags which can be very effective. But I never used them.

[emoji28][emoji28][emoji28][emoji28] FFS...I admit I'm poephole ...here I'm talking about tyres and not sand traxs. ..apologies.

Mike buy army sand bags or that fibreglass foot grates to use . I think 4x4 direct sells.

Have a look at Structural Mezzanine Floor media. There is a slotted steel floor deck which can take quite a point load and come in various lengths. If you have a roof rack you can attach to the sides of the rack ala Camel Trophy style
