AARTO Infridgement Notices

#1

Post by Mad Manny »

I have 7 vehicles. Some are driven by drivers.
I get AARTO Infringements.
I get told by SMS or a notice in my P.O. Box.

But to collect them you have to go into the PoesKantoor.
I don't do queues.
So I don't collect them.

Kinda stupid that they post them & you have to physically collect them.

Anyhoo, what do you guys do when you find out you have a fine (AARTO Infringement Notice)...

I send the youngster in our office.

It sucks to be the youngest!

It is what it is.

Why don't you drop off one of your drivers. He can sign for it with his id.

Pick him up afterwards.

Nope there representation is purely aarto/etolls

Fines you pretty much stuffed unless you want to spend a day at the courts for the traffic officer not to pitch up and you get off but would rather chew on a light bulb

They get you when you try and renew your driver's licence.

I have outstanding fines totaling to the amount of R5900.00. It's dating back a couple of years and all my fault but I'll wait for the summons and then pay. :D

Some years ago there was an issue with JHB traffic laws’ terms and conditions.... they saved me close to R40000 but they did not actually save me money, I just do not pay, even up until today..... if i don’t get a hand written fine, or if my license cannot be renewed until I pay a specific fine, I just don’t pay fines.

ImageThe AARTO (Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences Act) will be implemented nationally from 1 July 2021.

Every driver starts with zero demerit points on his/her driving licence. If 12 demerit points are accumulated the driving licence will be suspended for 3 months.

A driving licence may only be suspended twice after which it will be cancelled.

Here is a summary of some of the main fines and demerit points:
