The mighty Ford again:

I am in Windhoek for the week and I had to drive (getting tralier fit and the loadbin rubberized). Say what you will, but this ain't too shabby.

It is still going well Nic, I left the S11 with the missus and took the Ford back again. Looking at the state of Ford (as I received it from my wife, I told her that is why she can't have nice shit - tar spots everywhere, scratched rim and a new ding on the front bumper - she deserves the S11).

Did the whole Henties-Uis-Fransfontein-Otjikondo trip this weekend, and it did well - just a lot more dust ingress than usual, but I reckon that was because I had the climate control on the whole time. And it was some sort of rally weekend, so there were the one convoy after the other which created a lot of dust.

Fuel consumption stays at 9,5km/l in town and 10,5km/l on the open road.

O ja, fitted Goodyear Wranglers recently, for 3k a tyre. It feels more secure on the gravel (probably placebo effect) but no real difference on tar (to the Conti-akkas it had on).

Are you two going to arrange a "4x4AG GTG Swakopmund"? :)

I did one of those in Somerset. Worked out well, except for Kelsall who was too scared to join without Apoc.

It has been a while since I updated this thread.

It has done about 84k km to date and apart from replacing both rear leaf springs (same middle graduated leaf spring broken on both sets - replaced under warranty), it is still going strong. My fat arse is not to blame for this.

One of the retaining clips which fasten the leather to the seat frame (front driver seat) came loose and I replaced it. My fat arse is to blame for this.

Fuel consumption at 9,9km/l over the full duration of my ownership.

It is due for its last service on the service plan in January '25.
