I'm curious about the ropework so would like to try join for the abseiling. If the Saturday morning restaurant is Di Plaastoep, Braam can provide keys to Meiringskloof 4x4 trail if anyone wants, and I can be the temp tour guide for the history of the caves.

What would the trail distance be and time to finish

Meiringskloof Cave system is 45min drive one way from the Di Plaas Stoep restaurant. The walk is about 30 min so 2 hours is a reasonable time for the full trail.
This trail can be decided last minute so as Manny said lets stick to the schedule and wing it if needed.
