For a moment I thought it was some sort of Discovery but then I read the Defender part.
Please forgive me my lack of reading skills.

Could be. But not anywhere I’ve seen (other than DRIVETRIBE).KurtG wrote:I’m sure I have seen this thread somewhere else before?
It’s clearly got Independent suspension. I think they won’t convince the old Defender punters, like Jeep were able to retain the following with the Wrangler

If that’s the new defender , they’ve really lost the plot. They should call it the Land Rover tazz. Or maybe the citi rover.

On the up side. At least the D3/4 looked relatively decent. Not like the D5 which looks like it had a stroke manifest in anus

If that really is full independent, then the Wrangler designers can breath a sigh of relief. Because then it’s officially the best 4x4 & will have no competition

A couple of years ago , I went to see the last of the defenders at stellenbosxh Land Rover and was quite saddened when I realized that if I wanted a real 4x4 with a decent load caoacity from that point on I’d need to go
To a Toyota dealership. At that point they already had separate parking and a tradesman’s entrance for defense owners. The Wrangler is super capable but it’s not a truck . It was always going to be hard to satisfy the defender fans with a replacement (well, not really. All they had to do was do what they did back in 1948. Put a dodgy Aluminium body on a Jeep chassis) but either way. Whatever that is is just not even trying.

But.....the Defender never evolved like the Wrangler did. Or like the Porsche 911. That has led to its sad demise. When an old version can outperform a new version is a sign that a manufacturer has got it wrong.

Well, the Discovery was originally the evolution of the Defender
It was basically what the Wrangler JK was to the Wrangler TJ and the YJ before that.
they just continued to produce them side by side.
The Discovery 2 was superb when it was launched whilst retaining all the ability of the Defender.
Then came the Disco 3 and 4 (and the hideous thing they've just released) which really aren't rugged 4x4s at all.

They’ll give to Kingsley. He will burn a steak, cooked in Rum on a shovel right next to it.
Alex’s GQ men will stand in queues for miles to get their hands on it.
I can see a few Seapoints Fags with one, thinking its the ideal 4x4 and daily drive, all in one
