F 250

Post by Leon »

Lekker bakkies. Vriend ry al jare een. Engiste ding wat my afgesit het was dat baie onderdele nie meer by Ford beskikbaar was nie en ingevoer moet word. Selfde probleem met my Amerikaanse Ford Ranger gehad.

F250 raak nou skaars. Hier by ons loop nog so `n paar.

Christo dis goed man.

Leon, the problems with those Ford F250s that were brought in to SA are:
1. Very few were brought in.
2. They are now very rare, much like looking for a Rambler Sportabout - remember them?
3. No more any back up from Ford, not that Ford offered back up back then.
4. Pricey parts.
5. You needed a 'Code 10' to drive them.
6. They were Fords. :D

They were nice and big, bigger than any current pick up like the Ranger or Hilux and certainly far bigger than a 70 series Cruiser.

If you want the size then the best you can do it a modern Ranger or Hilux.

If you want the toughness, then you need to go Cruiser 70 or Patrol.

Or.... Go for a double cab truck like an N series Isuzu or a Hino...
Or, if you have cash, an Iveco...

… guys oft lift those F250s by about a foot or so
till the prop shaft’s sloping about 25degrees;
eye-catching at the frequent petrol stops
but not mechanically healthy …

Actually if your propshaft shop knows what they are doing, it isn't an issue
