Flopower 12v water pump???

#1

Post by Wave »

I'm busy adding a NL DC-DC charger to my Comfort, and while I have the batteries out and drilling holes I thought maybe its a good idea to change the filter attached to the pump.

Does anyone know who the agents are for Flopower water pumps? I have Googled my arse off but not found anything local.

Or where to get a replacement filter?

Or if there is a compatible filter?

Makes sense to change it while I'm working in there as removing the batteries in the Comfort is a kak job.

Thanks

Ok, with some help from Iron we have found the agents

Rudd Products in Kyalami 011-702-3010

The same pump is under different names; Surgeflo, Starflo, Singflo & Flopower, so probably some Chinese rubbish if it has so many names for the same thing

Geoff … I struggled to find a discrete inline filter
ahead of my trailer pump to stop crap screwing up my pump … eventually used a cone filter from one the garden spray systems … just fitted it inside the feed/inlet pipe to the pump …

4x4 Direct stock those pumps under the name Shurflo. It has an inline filter and is pressure controlled.

Have one in my Cruiser. Very satisfied with its performance.

So Ge'Off got a better response here, on Our Forum, with less than 500 members, than he did when he asked the same question on another Forum, which has over 81000 members. :?

Makes you think, don't it...

Alrighty so what do I do here.

12V Flopower FL-35. 12.5L/min 35PSI pump in my trailer. Has a crack on the top which leaks so pump corrects every few min and it makes a mess inside the nose cone. Otherwise works fine. Right now I just switch it on and off at DB board to limit the leak.

I see they go via all kinds of names but I cant find my exact one to try find a replacement part. Can I glue it closed? Will it just crack again? Do I fork out R2k + to replace?

I r dumb with DIY.

You maybe able to remove it, strip it, epoxy it and put it all back.
But may be easier to just replace.

I'll ask the great Jotto of Kammatech trailers to come look.
I suspect he may be your man.

I thought it was cracked, but closer inspection, looks like a failed seal at whatever this part is a cover for.

But when opening up to check, the whole fitting is crumbing before my eyes. I dont see myself replacing a seal and all will be dandy.

The screws are also mismatched suggesting a camp side fix previously. This whole pressure head will either need to be replaced if I can find it, or whole thing.

R600 for a replacement from Takealot. A no-brainer.
