BushPower site provides wiring diagram for DC-DC unit
when last did you get onyo the Bushpower Website?
It's been down for over a year...
I tried a few months back - tried to purchase something off their website - tried to send a message off their website and tried to contact the cell number off their website - all 3 avenues failed. They should just close it down.
... but I havent tried buying online
I usually pop up to MidRand and chat, pay and collect
but admittadly havent done it for a while ,..
Main benefit is that they know what they are selling,
installing and renting etc ... rare these days !
Parts should also be available via 4*4 Direct etc
for online orders ...

I also spoke to Bushpower a few weeks back.
He said they are trying to get the Website up.
It was unreliable for over a year.
He did say it should be sorted soon.
Glad to see they came right.
I built my own portable packs.
Bought plastic boxes from Makro for R230.
Fitted 105ah battery, cables and bolted 2 x BH plugs and 1 x hella plugs, using small pieces of plywood recessed into the battery box handles as a mounting points for the plugs.
Both these were clamped to the floor at the rear of my Pajero Sport mainly for safety.
They were easily removable and interconnectable to run in parallel or individually.
So to charge during travelling the BH plugs were all connected via the car's charging system.
When needed one or two are removed and plugged into trailer when the trailer battery was not winning with solar charging on a cloudy day or two.
Sometimes I just used a connector lead from the car to the trailer and left the packs in the car, if we werent going anywhere.
So to try answer you, it can be done very economically as described in the first section, nothing fancy. Excluding battery R400 to R450.
Batteries choice is a much of a muchness. The more you pay the longer the battery lasts. Then special chargers start playing a part and these cost R's.
I have always used a NL intelligent solenoid charger in my cars. I have my reasons.....
Shane,
hi my camper is now fitted with a National Luna Green unit, easy to use reliable, but yes not cheap. On a recent trip I could test it fully. I bought mine from Battery Outdoor King in Pretoria, the unit comes complete with everything Cable , wire and fuse, even battery clamps. For 220 volt its link with a National Luna charger. Its fully Solar compatible. I ran two 50lit fridges on 12 volt. The unit has a build in DC/DC charger. The battery is a Victron AGM 120Amp/hour battery. cost R17500.00 incl for the three units
My Jimny is fitted with an FLEX 120 amp/hour Lithium battery, linked to a Nemo 30A Dc to Dc Charger with MPPT. I bought this from Flex Adventures in the Gordon's Bay. Cost R11500.00 for all.
I did most of the wiring and fitment myself,
both ready to tour i just need more time.
