Bushlapa trailer lights not working on Prado 120
Hi all,
I recently bought a Prado 120, my Bushlapa’s LED lights do not function as they should yet on my Prado 150 they work perfectly fine.
What is the solution? It should work on both vehicles so I cannot make changes on the Caravan’s wiring.
Thanks

Ryno had the same problem when he plugged his Naaijulle Opapi into his Amarok.
It's some relay issue.
I'll ask him to advise.
But as Kurt of Kent said - it has been discussed previously on this great Forum...

Chance that someone altered the SABS wiring standard on the 120.
The Bush Lapa would be wired to the SABS standard and that is why it works on the 150.
Bad earth and poor connections can also play havoc on trailer lights. Maybe use contact clean on the 120 plug.

... there has to be threshold amount of resistance in the circuit ...
... and LEDs dont give that ...
... I have a small 6 led magnetic bar to light side of my trailer etc and with few metres of cu wire
its only 1.5 ohm
... so maybe try a say 10 ohm resister in parallel ?
... or put a dummy globe in the circuit ?

This is the solution without going to spend hours search elsewhere.BushWacker wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 9:59 am... there has to be threshold amount of resistance in the circuit ...

Prior to becoming the shithot professional.camper that I am now, the one thing I thought I'd need is lots of light.
The trailer came with a full set of clip on fluorescent lights as well as a few mounted in the trailer. I bought a few lamps, torches, magnetized LED's etc.
After camping a few times I realised you need lots of lighting like you need a powerful sound system.
I gave the fluorescent lights to my staff and unpacked many of the other lights.
Fire light and one or two dull lamps is all you need...
