Indeed Henri, given he’s indeed sold his trailer, he should exact leave of the powers that be ...
and test out his dome tent...

Indeed he did indeed do the deed and hand over his trailer and ownership deed.

Right, my report...
Please note that this report is purely hypothetical as the 4x4 Action Group abides by all Lock Down Regulations
The Hypothetical Trip Down:
Hypothetically, bugger left on Thursday in his Kombi Camper towing Tiny, but due to wind conditions her turned back, dumped the Camper, hitched Tiny to his Toureg, called to change his booking from camping to chalet & headed out again, arriving Thursday afternoon.
The rest departed on Friday morning.
Rabbiddog, Ernie & I were the last to arrive.
Hypothetically 13 booze laden vehicles pitched.
Four from the FS:
* Ernie (Hilux Extended Cab)
* Francois (Wrangler)
* Burger (Wrangler)
* Nico (TJ)
A further 11 arrived from GP
* Bugger (Toureg towing Tiny)
* Chris Crips (Range Rover V8)
* Avon (Wrangler)
* Andreas (Cruiser)
* Henri (Pajero)
* JP (Wrangler)
* Johannes (Defender 110)
* Rabbiddog (D3 G4)
* Manny (Fearless the Jeep Eater)
After leaving home (Hypothetically) I remarked to Tanya that we all had concealed booze & permits but it will all be for nought.
I said that "No-one will have a story regarding a run-in with the authorities".
I was right - it was all plain sailing (in Theory).
Koranna has a very nice big lapa/thatch entertainment room. A massive fire place, a big square 12 seater table, other seating & a few lounge suites - this area made the weekend for us.
Days were warm (shorts) but the nights were chilly.
We all braai'id & had quiet night...

Saturday - The Trail
We all lined up at 09:00, deflated - I then went through the rules & bugger set up the route & the convoy order.
We headed out & did the main trail - basically you head up the mountain & back again.
Traction was paramount so the guys with no D/L or TC (like the TJ & Johannes' 110) were at a disadvantage.
But we all got to the top with no damage& no recoveries.
Coming back, at the bottom, Andreas split a Maxxis & everyone piled in to assist - in all, 9 guys had a hand in the tyre change
We did one last difficult obstacle, I loosened a mud flap & we called it a day.
That night we (in Theory) went large; Bugger & the Jeep guys were still going strong after midnight!!!
Then Sunday arrived...

Sunday - The Damage, the Babalaas & the Big Chill
On Sunday we were to do the longer but easier & shorter (timewise) trail.
However a few of us decided to chill at camp, as Chris pointed out: Over 5 hours driving down on Friday, over 5 hours doing the trail on Saturday, then another 5 hours on Sunday before a 5 hours driving back on Monday is a bit much.
In the end Rabbiddog, Ernie & the guys who went big the night before, all headed out.
As it turned out, the 'mild' trail had washed out & was worse than yesterdays trail - some damage was done.
Rabbiddog, Ernie & Avon returned to camp, but Bugger & the Jeepers headed out in search of more challenges.
Ernie left that afternoon - the wind had picked up & he had reports of fires near his farm. The wind pulled my awning loose.
That night Andreas issued the Strafdoppe (in Theory), the girls then got their hands on the (Hypothetical) left over Jagermeister & Granadilla shooters.
Strangely Bugger & Renay disappeared early
That night was damn cold...

Monday - The Great Trek Homel
Johannes left at 04:30, the rest of us started leaving from 09:00, I, myself, left at 10:30.
No matter what route you use you have roadworks, or potholes or drama - the FS roads are not pleasant.
Everyone got back safely without drama.
Epilogue
A lovely Club weekend away, challenging 4x4'ing & a fairly nice venue.
Obviously 2020 has not been good to Koranna Getaway as it has not to all such venues.
So a few minor issues need attention - for example the deck outside Ernie's Chalet was in a state of collapse.
But I'm sure they'll attend to these matters as soon as visitors start returning.
It was good to get a way for a few days.
It was good to forget all the PPE Corruption & Corona BS.
It was good not hearing any (bad) news for 4 days.
It was good to support a tourist destination for the first time in months.
It was good that the only news we heard was that Brad Binder had won the Moto GP.
If you were thinking of coming but decided not to because your corrupt overlords told you that you can't - you are a fool...
See you ALL at Ribbokkloof in late September!!!

Thanks for the hypothetical report Manny.
Hypothetically that is what happened in a nutshell.
We had a great time with you all! Actually.

What a great weekend.
I enjoyed the venue, especially the lapa which made the evening events very pleasant and cosy and brought everyone together for some fun times. The camp ground had lovely views of the mountains.
The trail was challenging enough for all and I need to point out that Henri in his stock Pajero did a remarkable job of keeping up with all the jeeps and modified vehicles without sustaining any big damage.
Big thanks to Bugger who led us on the trail and to Manny for organising it all,
Once again an outstanding weekend getaway brought to you by 4x4AG.
And i must add a note about the Free State. The people are fantastic but their roads a really bad.
