In SA Toyota has nearly 200 dealerships, but guys like Renaukt and Haval have less than 60.
Is this because Renault & Haval are more reliable?

I have to say.
I haven't seen the new defender on or off road yet - I like it's looks, but it's 'okay' as opposed to 'I need to rush into the bathroom for a moment'
The Ineos is certainly a lot more to my taste from the pics. Pass the toilet paper!

What will make or break the Grenadier is dealer networking and spare part availability.

Agreed ... that is why I believe Toyota motor would be more appropriate,
though I think good marketing for successful sales,
especially in early years, would need help them achieve payback and survive.
Not easy to float a new car now or in next few years...
... as ‘New Defender’ may also find.

The problem with Toyota is that they don’t have any suitable engines. Especially diesel.

Which engines would you suggest, bearing in mind it’s purpose.

Let us go the other way round. BMW have no engines that have
proven themselves in the African bush.
