The practice of quarantine, as we know it, began during the 14th century in an effort to protect coastal cities from plague epidemics. Ships arriving in Venice from infected ports were required to sit at anchor for 40 days before landing.
This practice, called quarantine, was derived from the Italian words quaranta giorni which means 40 days.

Interesting considering as Italy is one of the worst hit regions during COVID-19

Where is the Portuguese Border?

Little Johnny comes to school late.
The teacher asks "Why are you late Johnny!".
"Because I had to make my own fcuking sandwiches"..."
"Stop!" the teacher shouts.
"Go stand in the corner!"

They do Religious Instruction, they do Maths, then just before the break, they do geography.

The teacher asks where the capital of France is. Amy says it's Paris.
She asks what river Frankfort is on & Peter says The Main.

Then she asks "Who knows where the Portuguese border is?"
No one knows.
But little Johnny is standing in the corner waving is arm in the air frantically.
Teacher says "If you get this correct Johnny, you can join the class again."
"Where is the Portuguese border?"

"The Portuguese Boarder is in bed shagging my mother, that's why I had to make my own fcuking sandwiches!"
"No one ever got stuck - in mid air!"
