Let’s see if I can get this right;
Mon to Fri 2015 Q7
Sat and Sunday Hybrid, a 1983 Datsun Patrol with a SBC
She drives a Amarok V6 of sorts, won’t give the bloody thing back after I kitted it!
Then some work vehicles;
Frod Ranger
Toyota Hillux d4d
3 Frotunas d4d like fearfull
And an EFI Cruiser s/c
Which one is my favourite, probably the two old school busses, the Patrol and the Cruiser, the Amarok also leaves a smile on my face!
When it comes to past tense it gets more tricky
A q3 RS was quite interesting, probably did more offroading than most Sandton Wranglers, before that was a Scooby that did the same, sold it because the rooflining got wet, during a river crossing
One of the first Amaroks in the country was regularly parked in my driveway, followed by an auto when they became available. The auto was rumoured to be the first production vehicle ever to do Baboons at night! (With help from some very esteemed members of this forum) It did need to winch itself over Goliath as in those days I still did not understand the mik and druk!
Before that was another Ranger, two hardboddies and two kb Isuzus, one was a 280 and the other a 320! Both feature high on my list of all time favourites!
Before that were a few SFA Hilluxes, all were finished by the time they got to 100k km and no they weren’t soft, they just worked hard!
My hatred for bitumen started with a 1971 Salamander lwb beach buggy, the stories that thing could tell!
All my vehicles had a very tough life and most of them have crept in under my skin! It’s not the brand, it’s the memories you make with them!
Hybrid did a trip to Langebaan last year, mostly on dirt roads, never missed a beat! Took us five days, me and the missus and though it was challenging we never said a harsh word to one another!
P.S. The Defender in the background in one of the photos belongs to a mate, it is the oldest surviving Defender in the country and it is a V8, it also made the trip to Langebaan

Yes and I still have them.
Hilux for a few years but it does not count as it cost too much to service and never left the tar.

I recently watched a video on youtube (pity I didn't save the link) of some russians pitting a whole variety of 4x4's with traction control against the same obstacle. The only ones that were able to do the obstacle without diff locks were the 2019 Jimny, D3 and D4

Oh wow, to my dismay, currently a very soft soft roader.. 2007 Honda CRV, but I have played a bit with it and even recovered a proper 4x4 or 2 with my Lawnmower in in the UK
