I agree. Would rather use Goodyear Wrangler A/T, anydayXJ Junkie wrote:BFG is fine for ASPW types but it’s no good as an all round off-road tyre.
Over priced, over rated.
Terrible product

And there's your problem: You must fit BFG's to your vehicle, not your ding-dong.

... problem is ...
... you guys want a near impenetrable sidewall that balloons right out when at 1bar
and brakes like a road tackie on tarmac
... that you can use in mud or sand ...
during the <1% time you actually go off-road...

I wonder if manufactures test tyres. Don't think so. Think they take a tyre catalog give it to a pupil engineer and say pick something.
Seems these little know nothing boytjies all pick BFG lately for the top end performance 4x4's
Will someone on this forum please post the link to this thread to Isuzu, Ford, Jeep to name a few.
Think they will be enlightened with the super guidelines find here.

I have BFG KO2 on my isuzu at 100kmh it sounds like all the wheel bearings are gone
On a wet road the are more slippery than a eel in the water
Have a set of Velocity Raptors on the Fortuner very quiet tire on road and grip like crazy and I have pushed them to there limits on wet and dry roads

My 10 cents worth of info. If you drive in town then bf is a kak option. Firm ride slippery when wet. If you do gravel and offroad a 2 ply is not really suited. i have also tried most tyres on the farm. 2 ply does not work for me. They do not last 32k km, the only ones that did was michelin but at 50k km they looked like ice tyres with all the snot plugs sticking out. Some had 15 plugs in. So for me only a 3 ply and yes they are wishy on wet tar and firm ride but when you keep them at 1.7 bar then they are ok.
As for the old bf ko I was always happy. My first set of new ko2 I had bad results as i broke them all before 30k km. When I looked deeper into the tyre I found that on 9.5x10r15 they changed from 3 to 2 ply god knows why. My friends who use them stil get good results but most other sizes are 3 ply. Therefore I wont use them again on 15" but will on 17" as all are 3 ply.
From what i can see is that white wall is a weak link in a tyre as it is a soft rubber.
See pics from a buddy of mine who is a jakkals jagter. Those 17" tyres dont have it easy as they are used for hunting and by the way they have 70km on the clock.
