I think, when it comes to tyres,
its horses for courses, depending on
sand / bushtrail / gen overlanding etc
and of course on-tar access and safety
to destination.
For fast tar travel and where deflation is key...
(eg sand, rivertrips, dunes)
and for most 44AG members it is ...
then stiffwalled BFGs probably less appropriate
than some other makes.
I find that for what I do (mainly camping
and general overlanding) BFGs and GYW
do just fine ...
... former best the latter best value for money.

Michelin sounds good. Underrated but those who I have spoken to that have them fitted have nothing but praise for themKurtG wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 7:58 amLet me honest though, the ONLY reason I have BFG on is because I got them for R3k per tyre (265/65R17) plus the fitment centre gave me R1500 for my worn paper thin Hankooks. So I ultimately paid R2625 per tyre.
They are certainly not my first choice.
If I had to buy an LT spec A/T tyre now, my first choice would be Cooper Discover AT/3 LT.
Second choice would probably be Michelin LTX2

Ok you guys lured me into this one. I am really not interested going into this useless debate.
I will go by this thread by asking questions.
So sit back and answer them.
1. How many 4x4's have you owned?
2. How many different brands of 4x4 tires have you fitted over the last 30 years?
3. Please list your rating as a Ultimate Trail Master as per this tread. viewtopic.php?f=22&t=116
4. Then also name all the trails you have done.
5. I would also like pics of your personal experience with BF`s failing. Please no pics from the net.
So Yes I care f-all if you cannot support my above questions and support them with facts.
Yes I have run a 600km Namib trip with BF`s at 0.6bar.
So beat me in posting pic`s of your personal tire failures.
I mean the Hellcat Jeep and F150 Raptor comes OEM fitted with BF`s.
Makes you think..

You will never find me without Stroh or a 4x4

If you used condoms & have 2 kids you need to have a chat to the wife.
Sounds like your fence is not high enough.
