There was an article in the recent SA 4x4 of the last Defender Trophy held in and around the Addo National Park.
Looked like they had a real good time on roads we as park visitors would never be fortunate enough to access.

Yes ... theyre organized by Johan Kriek.

... first one was in 2004 in Lesotho,
then Limpopo province in 2005,
2006 followed Limpopo into Moz
& into The Grt Limpopo Transfrontier Park
then later also did the Ivory Trail
and also the Eastern Cape route

those seem to be the main routes

... no not on a formal one ...
they are too popular and take too many defenders... long convoys, big crowds etc

A few years ago I went on small trial run one with same operator ... lower price , smaller crowd etc ... it was great.
