ADORE and the City of Cape Town will again be hosting our Mandela Day event on the 19th July 2019. This event is in its ninth year and will see ADORE & The City of Cape Town hosting forty learners from the Atlantis School of skills.

As with every year we need the help of the 4×4 community (not 'that' forum) who are always so generous in donating their time as well as their vehicles for the day. If you want to help out this year then please contact us by filling in the contact form on the link below.

http://www.atlantisdunes.co.za/2019/06/ ... vent-2019/

You will need to be at Atlantis Dunes gate one at 08:00. You will take the learners on a dune drive and sandboarding adventure before returning back to the new Bio Diversity offices for lunch. We aim to be finished at 13:00.

The running order of the event will be:
• 08:30 Welcome –
• 08:45 Introduction –
• 09:00 Motivational speech
• 09:30 Goodie bag & Presents hand-outs -
• 09:50 Safety talk and allocation of drivers
• 10:00 Kids drive on the dunes (convoys) and sand boarding (Mamba sandboarding) Duration to be decided on the day
• 11:45 Lunch
• 13:00 End

We thank you for your help and look forward to seeing you on the day.

A quick tip to the organizers - please refrain from providing dairy blend drinks in the goody bags provided to the scholars.

Dairy products and dune driving do not compute well with the constitution of hyped-up youngsters and PUKE does not wash out of vehicle carpets easily. :o

ADORE / City of Cape Town. 2019 Mandela Day Pictures and Feedback

This years ADORE / City of Cape Town was the biggest ever. More sponsors, more learners and more fun. As with every year the event was to ensure that local learners from the Atlantis area were exposed to The Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve to ensure they understand the critical role that Bio Diversity plays in all or our lives.

In addition the learners are treated to a thrilling 4×4 drive around the area and sandboarding provided by Mamba Sandboarding. Breakfast was provided by Truda snacks who also included plenty of snacks in the form of a goodie bag. This event is in its ninth year special mention must be given to Total Parklands & Total SA who have been with us from day one. This Year Total Parklands provided goodie bags not just for the learners but for the drivers as well. After the drive the learners enjoyed a meal provided by Cajun Spur Table Bay Mall.

Our thanks go out to our Drivers who give their time and their 4×4’s for free. Our sponsors and the City of Cape Town and their staff without whom this event would not be possible. Looking forward to seeing you all again next year.
