Don't get excited - this is NOT a River Trip arrangement Thread...

This is just a head's up... IF you are considering doing River Trip on that weekend, please know this:

The Patrol Guys are taking 40 vehicles up.

Godrich Toyota has a group of 23 vehicles going...

I would guess that there will be over 100 vehicles driving up & down those two rivers on that weekend. If not more.

The guys going will have fun.

Godrich 4x4 & the Patrol guys are decent responisble folk, as are many who do the River Trip.
I've met the GelandeWagen guys on the trip a fewtimes, also great guys...

BUT!!!

The days of that River Trip, are, in my opinion, coming to an end.

Politics in the 4x4 fraternity.
Real political sentiment amongst the locals.
The increase in River Trippers & the increase in locals living along the river.
The increase in irresponsible 'Suip en Dryf' 4x4 types (I didn't say Sticker Spotters).
Will eventual result in an incident or two which will bring it all to an end.

There has also been political unrest in the Giyani area.

The 4x4'ers (well the bad elements amongst us) are littering, leaving mounds of beer bottles & debris along the river.
Sooner or later some Suipgat is going to drive into a local, or his cattle, or his kid, or his water extraction system & all hell is going to break loose.

But that's just my opinion...

Manny just admit it, you would love to be on this trip with responsible, people loving chaps like ourselves, so here goes, you are most welcome to come along, a word of caution though... Please only bring what is nesesary and not your jeep, sorry fearless with the whole house, no shouting obscene stuff at the locals and you may have a doppie at night i will clean up before we leave...

If in the opinion of the great and fearless leader Manny, the River Trip is reaching its last legs of existance, then all the more memorable this years trip is going to be.
I shall report back on our trip which is taking place the week of 03/08/19 to 09/08/19 the week before the madding crowd arrives, and if we having enough fun we will continue with with one of the other groups coming in. Would love to have flown the action group banner on this seemingly last of the last, but... at least we will have stickers to indicate who we are affiliated to....

Watch this space for pics updates etc..
