The 2 Rock Cabins accommodate 7 people each – in 2 cabins sleep a total of 14 people.
The bedroom has a double bed, one single bed, a bunker bed = 2 single beds, and in the Launch is a sleeper couch.
Special inside the Rock cabins is the fire place – it will keep you cozy and warm during the unpredictable High field cold weather.
Gas geysers are now installed at the Rock Cabins.
The 2 Log Cabins have the same layout as the Rock Cabins – just a bit smaller. There can sleep a total of 9 persons in the 2 Log cabins.
Log Cabin 1: Sleeps 4 - The bedroom has a double bed, and a bunker bed = 2 single beds.
Log Cabin 2: Sleeps 5 - The bedroom has a double bed, one single bed and a bunker bed = 2 single beds.

Arrangements:
Arrival, Cabins & Camping
1. On arrival & planning when you pack:
a) A High ground clearance vehicle is essential to reach the cabins and camping grounds. you will need a 4x4 vehicle, especially when it was raining. Off-road caravans are suitable, but Regular caravans are at risk.
b) It is essential that your 4x4 vehicle should have "Low Range" to do the 3 Provinces 4x4 Trails. If you also have a "diff lock" on the vehicle, it will help a lot.
d) Please report at Reception on arrival, where every vehicle will receive a trails map.
e) Every vehicle must please sign an indemnity form - driver and all passengers - driver signs for under age children - if planning to do any of the trails by any vehicle, bicycle or per foot (hiking).
f) Unfortunately, we do not have debit / credit card facilities. Please, either do an EFT or bring along some cash – Banking details above.
g) There is Braai wood for sale at the farm house.
h) There is no tuck shop on the property. Please do your shopping before arriving. Nearest town is Volksrust.
i) When packing: 1. Be prepared for all season's temperatures. The weather in the mountains is unpredictable.

2. Due to exposure to natural elements, it is unhygienic to provide toilet paper in the toilets at the campsite. Please bring your own toilet paper.
3. For the cabins, please provide your own TOWELS.
4. Upon receipt we do not give keys to the Mountain Cabins. The Rock Cabins’ keys hang outside at the sliding door and the Log Cabins do not have keys.
5. Should you wanted to make use of one of the following services, it must be booked in advance please, as we have to arrange with staff to work during the weekend:
i) Transport between the Farmyard & the cabins/campsites
ii) The cleaning service of the mountain cabins and
iii) Help with setting up a tent at your campsite, please book it in advance
6. Despite maintenance, branches can sometimes collapse on routes after heavy rain, so it is advisable for passengers to sometimes get out and pull branches away or take saws and chopping knives with them to remove branches that could cause damage to your vehicle.

Cabins& Camp site & Trails:
a) There is an allocated generator area at the camp site, if you need to bring your own generator with. Please mention it when you book with us.
b) There are braai-facilities at some camp sites, therefore be safe and rather bring along your own braai grid.
c) Water at the cabins and Camping grounds may sometimes become a little brown during the rainy season. It is spring water and drinkable. If you would prefer not to drink it, please feel free to bring your own drinking water.
d) For hot water at the Log cabins and camp site, you need to light the fire at the boiler (donkey) – it takes approximately 30 minutes to the get the water steaming hot – we do provide the wood for that – please don’t use that wood for your braai, you’ll end up having a cold shower.
e) Gas geysers are now installed at the Rock Cabins. When using, fully open the hot water tap and run for about 50 seconds to reach maximum heat. Then add small amounts of cold water at a time until desired temperature is reached.
f) There is only 12V power at the mountain cabins which provide power for lights and a refrigerator. You're welcome to charge your cell phones at the farmhouse.
g) Please switch off the cabin’s lights when going to bed, also please do not attach any equipment such as inverters to the solar system's batteries. It might damage your equipment and will wear down/drain the batteries, then you'll end up being in the dark.
h) You are welcome to charge your cell phones at the farmhouse.) Please work sparingly with water. Water is pumped. Until it rained again, our springs dried up. Please do not wash your vehicles with the water.
j) There are major fire hazards during the Winter Months: June – September. Please don’t throw cigarette bits out of the window on the 4x4 trail and please make very sure to kill the fires at the campsite and the mountain cabins, if it will be unattended for more than half an hour. No fire may be made on the 4x4 trails during the winter months.

A small competent group could do the whole Mountain Trail in about 4 hours if they didnt muck about.

Whenever I've been, it's been in a largish group at a leisurely pace, we leave around 08:00 & get back to camp in the late afternoon...

So it could become an all nighter should the group become slightly large .

I would advise all participants to go and see your local optom and get polarized or night time driving lenses lest you be blinded by Shane's godlights.

You should put a mullet on the back of your toy.
