It is a good idea to be inclusive and to try and accommodate all members. However, how many members are outside Gauteng area. Of those members, how many would attend.Did we get Cape Town members join Richtersveld Trip. Did we get KZN/Vrystaat members join the 10 passes trip. How many non Gautengelengs attended Die Bus Stop weekend.

To travel the extra distance, with the added expense may not make sense. Also, then change the name to 4x$ AG Annual Jamboree or something because it aint year end.

Richtersveld we had Mike Nel and Grips join us.

Die Busstop we had Burger and Panda join us

Just a note that if the consensus is to have it closer to Gauteng then we will, I just mentioned the idea to the committee because I was at Gariep in Early Jan and it caters for large groups quite well.

Manny then took the suggestion and went off like a bull in a china shop or like a guy driving an Audi TTS on the highway.....

I drove to Gariep and back in early Jan. It was very painless and comfortable, not to mention economical, in my awesome “Massive flexing” Pajero. I’m good with either option.

I'm happy to travel, camping @ Gariep is lekker. 4x4ing @ YEF is not necessary from my side, I'm more interested in things to keep the kids busy, pool, jungle gym etc.

The guys that live further away have to make an effort! There is no point we move the YEF to a central location and only the GP guys pull in.

I am OK with Gariep. I plan to travel to the Wilderness Mossel Bay area for a tour after the YEF.

However I have no problem if it gets moved closer.

I’m happy with the new plan esp as Gariep is a CoG of the main cities and our members ... though not a weighted CoG.
I will also route it in with Mokala or Fly Fishing etc.
I agree with that east-ender to the extent that by having it there we must pull attendance from the Capes, CT, Durban and rural areas etc ...
Maybe call for those regional guys to show their hands / give some commitment ?

As normal Andreas is correct with his comment and suggestion..

Is it fair to say only Gautengelengers have commented so far?

Because Gariep's booked for the original YEF dates doesn't mean Aldam would also be.

And it doesn't need to be a long weekend for a venue three and a bit hours so maybe keep the original dates or even the original venue.

And there seems to be enough bodies that want to go to Gariep so add that weekend to the calendar and keep the YEF separate.

Then everyone's happy and brain cells don't have to be over extended. :o

Every single person who has posted so far, except Shane (near Virginia FS), lives in Gauteng...
