Can't wait for this trip.
Going to use the confinement time to prepare everything.
Counting down the days...

My USA trip departing on the 6th April has been postponed till August I hope. I am available to go to Kosi Bay and is there still space available camping.

Hi Peter.

Things are changing so fast. I believe this trip will also be postponed. once we have clarity on the situation regarding refunds or moving dates from the venue I am sure Manny will let us know. Right now, enjoy lockdown and get your camping gear sorted.

We were all looking forward to this trip. I was quite looking forward to getting paid at the end of this month. I had plans to go to Botswana in August.

It would be nice if we had the certainty of Mr Trump, but that is not the case. We are all in a wait and see what happens mode. Even trips in August could be in jeopardy. Who knows. You don't know and I don't know. I realise that the uncertainty is very frustrating for us. I could say yes the trip is definitely on. Please pay the balance of what is owed only to find we all lose all our money.

So please, have patience. If possible, we will go. If we can't we will postpone or make other arrangements.

Thank you very much and appreciate it for coming back to me.
This was destined to be an absolute awesome trip at the right place at the right time and I am really positive that we are all back to work on the16th hoping that SA is going to follow China's example getting the economy started up quickly.
Lets hope for the best.
Thank you again

It’s taken them 3 months and they were absolute in their instructions...

I am OUT regardless of what happens after 16 August.
If they extend the lock down - I'm out.
If they reopen SA for business - I'm out.
I'm an SME so as soon as I can I need to get back to work.
If reopening is delayed, I'll be closing my business.
So, either way - I;m out.

Peter, you can take my spot if the trip goes ahead.

As a side note, this is what I would do, if it were up to me (which it is not):

I would find out how many people are still IN.
I know Bugger is probably OUT - Renay won't get leave. (he posted such above).
Renier-C is IN.
Peter wants IN.
Maybe others are OUT & maybe there are more guys who want IN.
Check with the others, it may give a picture.

The reason I'd do this is so that, if the trip goes ahead, you can get the new attendees packed & paid ASAP.

I think we are all waiting to find out about LockDown and when it will end.
But if the LD is over, we are IN

But are also happy if the date gets moved.

As Manny Stated I'm probably OUT.

But more importantly is my own business getting funds in...

Then...traveling to a possibly not very hygienic area with more risk for after math contamination
I think the risk if you go is not worth it currently for me...

I have Diabetes so my risk is greater picking up a fresh dose of 19

So guys I rather pull out now and open space for somebody else who wants to join.

Like everyone of you we were really looking forward to this trip - very disappointed atm.

But I rather look after health and camp later than grow Daisies from a box

Thanks for this

It is anyone's guess when this whole situation will play itself out.

Sue has an underlying lung condition and we have discussed this risk.

We would rather pull out than wait.

We were really looking forward to this.

Cheers everyone. Be safe

Henri
I also have a very bad lung condition caused by smoking for 56 years. COPD then to full blown emphysema diagnosed in August last year and my wife on the other side has very bad asthma and we have discovered that in the low altitude areas our breathing vastly improved like our SATS on the highveld is in the low 80's and at 200 ft above sea level it is in the upper 90's which is very good. So we know Kosi Bay which is at sea level means we are going to have excellent lung function. The big plus factor on this resort is that there is no malaria because it is very sparsely populated this also greatly eliminates or lowers the risk of contracting covid19 and the other plus factor is max sunlight and high temperatures during the days.
We as a precaution dose ourselves heavily with Vitamin C 6000 mg per day , Vita C 2000 mg per scoop three times a day.
I am also a Diabetic type 2 since 2000 thats 2 decades, I battled to get my sugar down below 13 consistently until i elected to go onto insulin and what a different ball game sugars fro 5 to 8 some times 10 then get a shot then down to 5. The best since sliced bread, no harm and the only side affect is if you don't exercise to tend to put on weight.
Now we just need to see what decision is taken on the 16th
Take care and stay frosty This is a war zone
